The Ultimate Super Bowl Scoop: Bets, Careers, and Cutting-Edge Wellness Therapies

Hyper Strong Productions Episode 80

Ever felt the exhilarating rush of a Super Bowl send-off? My co-host Kevin and I sure did, and we're here to regale you with the tale straight from the heart of the 49ers' hive. As we gear up for football's biggest showdown, we're not just talking touchdowns; we're diving helmet-first into the kaleidoscope of Super Bowl bets and pondering the existence of a "hyperbolic time chamber." And if you think athletes only flex on the field, wait till you hear about their off-the-gridiron escapades that had us in stitches.

Strap on your cleats because we're taking a sprint down the career opportunities at the NFL. Picture this: mistaking a Super Bowl mascot for an animatronic mouse from a pizza joint—yes, that happened. Through laughter, we reveal how the 49ers treat their staff like MVPs and why networking might just be your ticket to that coveted strength coach spot. It's not all fun and field goals though; we get real about the highs and lows of fan loyalties and finding that precarious balance between passion for the game and family time.

As for those of you with an insatiable curiosity for cutting-edge recovery and wellness therapies, get ready to be your own guinea pig alongside us. We open up about our own experiments with the chill of cryotherapy, the warm glow of red light therapy, and the squeeze of hyperbaric oxygen chambers. It's a no-holds-barred discussion on the blurred lines between science-backed benefits and the feel-good placebo effects. So, whether you're an athlete, fitness aficionado, or just here for the thrill of it, tune in for a session that's as informative as it is entertaining.

Speaker 1:

What is up? Everyone's coach Austin here from hyper strength and conditioning with your nerd out and workout podcast when we nerd out workout and podcast with my co-host, kevin Arab. Arab a gun.

Speaker 3:

What's up y'all?

Speaker 1:

welcome to today's episode, beautiful people. It is victory Tuesday.

Speaker 3:

A week after a week after the send-off.

Speaker 1:

Today's episode we're gonna be talking about the incoming. At the time of this recording is a week before the Super Bowl.

Speaker 3:

We go up the Super Bowl week of the Super Bowl.

Speaker 1:

We're gonna be talking about how I got to do the send-off for the Niners. We'll be talking about betting. It's like a popular very, very bad. I'm season for everyone. If you don't bet, this is like people get into it We'll get into it. Do Super Bowl squares If you don't. You know, if you bet, on what color Gatorade that's gonna happen?

Speaker 4:

How long does Star Spangled Banner is gonna go?

Speaker 1:

It's pretty fun. Then we're yeah, we're just gonna richie, gonna shoot the shit. Like we normally do like we normally do and we get into some fitness stuff like ozempic, then you know, I got that out of the way, hey.

Speaker 3:

But you know what Did you try out like a recovery place.

Speaker 1:

I'm sorry, that's right, I totally forgot. Now, one of the biggest parts is I'm gonna talk about my experience At the Restore Hyper Wellness Center.

Speaker 3:

It's a franchise.

Speaker 1:

It's one of those places where they have the cryotherapy infrared sauna, the IV. Putting it in your arms rehydrate. Okay, the hyperbaric chamber, so you get more oxygen. I tried all that.

Speaker 3:

Do you have a hyperbellic time chamber?

Speaker 1:

hyperbellic, hyperbolic, hyperbolic time. That'd be crazy.

Speaker 3:

No, we just trade for a year in one day.

Speaker 1:

That'd be fucking good. I'll be insane. Um, and I'm still the same weight.

Speaker 3:

Most people would happen like dude, I got a whole year. You know we'll get into that later, man, but that's kind of crazy to think. Yes.

Speaker 1:

Yes, but it is. What was the first thing we're talking about?

Speaker 3:

and off brother send off this guy Got to send off the 49ers because they left yesterday and it was at 3 pm. From From the airport 340, something like that, all right and you know, all the fans had, like, you know, they came out, showed support, they're like with their signs and they were, like you know, like bang bang. I don't get do it for the bay, do it for the bike. But then this guy Was there. He was literally two feet away from the steps of the airplane. He could have gone on the plane.

Speaker 3:

I could have he could have, but he would have been arrested.

Speaker 1:

I would have been arrested, so but I could have smelled the same air they were in they could have been.

Speaker 3:

He could have put his Austin germs in that plane on the news.

Speaker 1:

They would have been breathing his molecules. I could have been on the news. Nine or fan arrested team boards were trying to board.

Speaker 3:

Well, I had told you if you wanted to get in, he should have just helped. George kills bag like grab his bags. I was like mr Kittle, let me get this for you.

Speaker 1:

I have so many one-liners in my head. They, when it came down to it, I was just freaking the fuck.

Speaker 3:

Oh yeah.

Speaker 4:

I was like I got a tea time.

Speaker 3:

Oh yeah, you see that video of McAfrey and juicic like in, like sunbathing, that's just hilarious, it kills.

Speaker 1:

recording them like it was a jackass.

Speaker 3:

Let's kill the one recording yeah it was a story oh was it. I just seen it on the like ESPN and stuff. I just thought so funny like juicic, like in fucking booty show.

Speaker 1:

It's such a football If football thing to do, like if you're in a squad of dudes, okay, it's just a football thing to do, that's what you mean like it's like a rest day, be almost like naked.

Speaker 3:

It's just a field with your buddies.

Speaker 1:

I mean it's a football thing to do.

Speaker 3:

We know I got cut, you didn't cut. Yeah, I did you were on reserve.

Speaker 1:

Yeah we put you on the practice squad.

Speaker 3:

High school teams do not have practice. Yeah, yeah, under the same intent. That's what JV squad is for. You know what I mean. So it's true, but so it was so funny that video. You know, they're just sunbathing and then McAfrey takes a swing and Juicic he's like oh, yeah. They went from like football guys to golf golf guys.

Speaker 1:

It was cool cuz every come on.

Speaker 3:

So you said, mcafrey, I have a tea time. What do you say?

Speaker 1:

I didn't say that cuz I was freaking out. He was right behind pretty. I called a pretty Anna Fray and I don't think he appreciated it. We got him. What, anna Fray? What is that? He's a. It's a. She's a. Tick-tock her that looks like Brock perty, and that's how she became famous. Wow.

Speaker 1:

She started wearing pretty Jersey and people started laughing. And so if you actually watch Chubba's Tick-tock was it tick-tock or Instagram? But when they made it to the NFC championship he was recording pretty and he goes, and the phrase go to the Super Bowl and Brock will look that I'm like stop how he's like such a sibling thing to do you.

Speaker 3:

You're one chance to talk to Possibly a great quarterback for the 49ers. You chose to insult him.

Speaker 1:

I chose to have a light-hearted, fun discussion with him because but he was locked in.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, he's you should.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, he was just like um, but it was all funny because when I posted that, I posted that vlog and man it's. It was kind of semi-blown up but like, a lot of comments were pretty cool, like and that was the point, like I wanted people to kind of see that View point of like sending off players and these niner fans again from like all over the country or right, all over the world. Oh, my god, thank you for doing. This is so great. But there are some people who are like there's one guy I think he was trying to troll me on purpose. He was like imagine taking time off and and rooting for millionaires to to go somewhere.

Speaker 3:

Oh, that's weird and I'm like yeah, okay, yeah that's, imagine, like watching a video Posting your opinion as if it fucking matters.

Speaker 1:

Gee. I was like wow but it was funny cuz he it was like a I think this guy did the same comment in another screen name, no, and I was like, okay, I'm just so he, so he, so he.

Speaker 3:

He made a comment. He was all oh man, that wasn't enough.

Speaker 4:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I'm making another.

Speaker 3:

The exact same thing. You know why? Because I'm lonely. I have no friends.

Speaker 1:

I'm open to the hate comments cuz it adds to yeah.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, what are?

Speaker 1:

you commenting dick, it's spamming. I was like okay, yeah.

Speaker 3:

I just gotta remove you. What a silly guy.

Speaker 1:

I mean, but you got your comment like chiefs are gonna win. Yeah, I was never gonna win a Super Bowl this out, but then there's a lot of other people who were just like man. Thank you for this is great.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, it was awesome.

Speaker 1:

That's so funny, dude. But yeah, no, it was a great experience. I mean, a lot of people wondered when York said you know he's, you know he's gonna fly out the entire organization. Oh man like I was getting messages, austin, you going, you going and I was like, how's me, yeah. I said it's, I'm like yo, let's go then um, I Already knew I'm like no, that doesn't count, us cuz we're game day.

Speaker 1:

We're game day Teams and and certain game day teams got to do it, so like there's a hype team, right yeah, the Niner noise, who are the drummer guys? There's a touchdown team right guys who run with flags yeah you know, every time after touchdown and we thought at least a touchdown team would go they didn't oh.

Speaker 3:

But you said a nine or some Niner noise went yeah, but out of 20 they made him choose eight. Damn. Yeah, cuz I during the ceremony just I saw those were Niner noise. That was not nine, that was a Vegas.

Speaker 1:

Those were Vegas people like cuz. I was like when I was a song, see, in the entrance right it was like who that like? Well, first off that, those drummer people. That's not nine or no, it's who the fuck are these guys?

Speaker 1:

But, also like who are these clowns like? Literally like the, the circus act. I was like what is this like? Is this, sir, is that serious? Oh, hey, people, no, really like. Is it like this Vegas baby? Oh, I mean, yeah, cuz. I was like that I don't, I don't know which team that is.

Speaker 3:

You know what was nice though? Bruce buffer, his, his introduction for the Niners and stuff was really well, you know he was, you know how he does the UFC matches. Yeah, yeah, yeah, and he did like the 49 like it sounded dope it sounds. I was like wow.

Speaker 1:

No, it looked it was hype, we were watching it Just so when she was watching, he did it for the Chiefs too, right, he did for the chiefs. So it was watching the chiefs and just so. And I was working on the, I was working on the squares and. Just I was watching she was holding junior and she goes what's tricky cheese doing there?

Speaker 3:

And I said that's, that's Kansas mascot.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, what's his name? Uh, he's the Kansas City.

Speaker 3:

Are you talking about Chester Casey Wolf? What does Casey Wolf look like?

Speaker 1:

Cuz he was in the booth dancing around and she shooed Jezebel's shoes. Jezebel's shoes are like why is Chucky cheese here? And then I was like looking at her. I looked that up and I was like no, that's Gaze is sitting fucking mascot Casey.

Speaker 3:

Wolf. I don't know if that's an insult to both Chucky cheese and the wolf, but damn, that's hella funny.

Speaker 1:

So said Chucky cheese yeah.

Speaker 3:

That's so funny, dude. Oh, my god.

Speaker 1:

So yeah, that was I was cracking up. That was good I should have posted that story, but I was just too funny. I made a story about it too because I was like, what did you say? But I was just too old in the moment. Yeah, dude, she straight up. She thought it was Chucky cheese. Like, oh, chucky cheese sponsoring the Super.

Speaker 3:

Bowl. Dude, that's like your, that's like your. Tita, that's like oh, why is there Chucky cheese? She's so funny. Damn that's wild. That's a good one. Shout out, jezebel. It wasn't even like she was trying to make fun of it.

Speaker 1:

She generally thought why?

Speaker 3:

is Chucky cheese sponsoring the Super Bowl? That's pretty wild actually.

Speaker 1:

But yeah so, but yeah no, they I mean Jed York was right, he, they, they sent all the office workers, all the interns, cause they're full-time too and they, you know, they crank out 12 to 16 hours. They get it Like dude, they, they should go. I did not expect them to fly a sound. If they did, that would have been a cherry on top, that would have been awesome, but they didn't.

Speaker 1:

But you know the front, the front line staff, they, they look out for us, cause they were like we work with them. Hey, man, we understand you guys don't get to go, but we got some opportunities. You guys want to go and do that and like send off, come to the send off. Oh, okay yeah. It was like a very small list of people that could make it. So, like we, we just filled it out and they're like wait, we'll let you know if you can make it, or we choose you.

Speaker 4:

That's cool, man, that's cool.

Speaker 1:

We got the email. It was great. Shout out to Nick he's like the fan engagement manager. He made that shit pop and Look how he was.

Speaker 3:

It was a good time.

Speaker 1:

It was good. I mean, we got to, we got to be on the buses, that the first shuttles that came out, and people thought we were the players and I was like, oh, is this how?

Speaker 3:

it feels You're like man, this could have been me. Yeah, it could have actually been me in another universe. Yeah. Fucking that's cool man, Two feet taller, that's really tight. But you know something I want to bring up. So I, on my story, I had posted a picture of the I think it was drawn, Jennings, I think it was a picture of them boarding the plane, Right and I put like oh, coach Taloza, like he's right here.

Speaker 3:

And then I now look at the picture again. Like they're boarding the plane and this guy's walking away from the plane.

Speaker 1:

You, you notice that. Oh, he went to the back. There's a back entrance.

Speaker 3:

There's a back entrance.

Speaker 1:

I'm like dude where are you going? Yeah, oh, I wouldn't. I'm pretty sure half of the players went to the back end.

Speaker 3:

Oh yeah, it's easier, right, but for media purposes.

Speaker 1:

I think they made all the like the key, like not the key, but like the media, the most popular Right People, they, they went first. I can tell. Like when they came out I kind of felt bad. I'm like why don't I just go in man?

Speaker 3:

No, it was funny, I was like what this was walking away from the entrance.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, no, there was a back. What a picture. So a lot of like the strength staff went on on the back and all that. But yeah, no, it was cool Like seeing everyone. Was it your armor brother?

Speaker 3:

from another mother. Yes, sir.

Speaker 1:

Fuck it. He's a big Raider fan, right, and I was like I don't know what he meant by it. He probably was just trolling, but excuse me. But he looked at the, he looked at the post and he goes wait, are they? Are they flying Southwest? I know big blue when I see it. And then when United came out with that commercial clip and I was in it, I just put, I just put it put his name.

Speaker 3:

I was like bro, take your free units. It's Southwest, sponsored by the Raiders or something.

Speaker 1:

No, uh, raiders, do Hawaiian airlines I think, oh, that's the last time I remember.

Speaker 3:

I see, um, yeah, it's probably because they go to Hawaii after the regular season every year. So, hey, man do it for the Bay.

Speaker 1:

Hey, I respect the Raider organization.

Speaker 3:

I got to work for them so you did, you did so you know, you know it from both sides, you know. So that's pretty wild, you know. Transitioning to that, like, like you said, like the strength team, they went through the backside of the plane right. Given your current life, where you are, could you do what those guys do what? Do you mean, could you be one of the strength coaches or staff?

Speaker 1:

It's really hard to get in. You need to know people.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, yeah, you need to know, but could you run that program for them?

Speaker 1:

Could I run it?

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I wouldn't. Would you be able to? I would be an assistant.

Speaker 1:

I would. I would like to be an assistant, but I wouldn't want to be the head.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, okay.

Speaker 1:

Because that's just a lot. It's a lot, I mean. I mean I just got to be straight out, like if I were to have to create a program and run it, I probably would. But I would have to reach out to, like, a lot of people who are more vet season than I was All right.

Speaker 3:

Well, this is our. This is our. What do you call this? This is our audition tape for Austin Toloza. He's already a hype member for the 49ers.

Speaker 1:

Okay, that's not good enough.

Speaker 3:

Look with. Just like Waterboy, they looked within the organization for a spark. Look within your organization now, because there's one right here ready to roll for the strength team baby I I mean, I had an opportunity.

Speaker 1:

I had an opportunity back in 0809 to really pursue that as a career option with coach Pearson and coach DeSanto under, you know, cable and at that time Jackson and yeah, yeah yeah. You know, but I, you know, I had to sit down with DeSanto and he was like, if you really want to pursue this career, you know, you it's, you're always traveling because you know it. Depending on how the team does and if they wipe out the coaching staff, strength staff is the first to go.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, I mean so.

Speaker 1:

And at the same time it's like, and those are long hours, man, first one in, last one out and I respected it. And he's like, if you know? And you asked me, like what do you really want to do? And I told him like I want to vote my own business and he goes. Well, he's like, well, you got to make a decision because if you want to pursue this NFL life, you're not going to be opening anything anytime soon. And that's when I decided at that time like, okay, then you know, I went forward demo thing and I opened my business. That's all history. And yeah, I'm doing it, I'm in it. But looking back going, I think part of the reason why I am part of the hype team is because I do want to get back into going into that organization and working for I mean, that's another part of it.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, part of working for an.

Speaker 1:

NFL team working for the Niners would have been great, but again, it's really hard to get in those positions. It's a coveted position, there's a lot of telling out there and the positions are very far in between. But I don't know. We'll see.

Speaker 3:

And they also told you that you have to sever ties with every team. Right, Like you can't root for the Niners ever again If you're with the Raiders organization and also, it was just like I can't do it.

Speaker 1:

No, there's no shut up. So that, dude, in the sporting industry there's a lot of fans who still work for other teams. You know, there was like when I joined the hype team there was at least three to four members of the hype team I was a 49er hype team who are diehard Raider fans. But because they had the opportunity to work in the NFL, they did it. So they was like they root for the Niners and they would do it well, but the moment they're off the clock and the Raiders are playing Raiders.

Speaker 3:

They're probably like every time we score touchdown. They're like Niners, let's go. And they're like crying.

Speaker 1:

Good job, guys, but like there's people who work in other organizations, that's wild though.

Speaker 3:

I mean I understand you want to work in the NFL and stuff, but like that's wild.

Speaker 1:

I take the opportunity, yeah.

Speaker 3:

No, I get it. There's a. I just think it's kind of like I know I get it. I get it, I get it. I'm not hating, I'm just like I get it.

Speaker 1:

I mean, can you not work for?

Speaker 3:

Seattle yeah, I can 100%.

Speaker 1:

I cannot work for Seattle.

Speaker 3:

No matter how much gum they give me. I cannot chew enough gum to stay like to work for Seattle. I don't know.

Speaker 1:

I mean it really like. So yeah, when I a long time ago, when I applied for the internships, there was Niners and there was Raiders the time Niners were laying off people back then. You know, we weren't that great.

Speaker 3:

We weren't, but.

Speaker 1:

Raiders. I mean again shout out to Pearson DeSanto coach Ro Hall of Fame strength coach. He was the one who spearheaded the internship program and gave a lot of opportunity to a lot of Bay Area kids.

Speaker 3:

Wow, that's cool.

Speaker 1:

That's why, like Greg, greg is a intern with him. Shout out to Greg he's an assistant strength coach for the Niners. Wow. So I saw him at the NFC championship. I was like hey bro, he's like oh shit. I was like congrats. Yeah. And so yeah, and he's like oh, we got one more left, and I was like good shit man.

Speaker 3:

What's up man? Yeah, what's up dog?

Speaker 1:

But I mean shout out to Miranda, he's the equipment manager at the Raiders. John Miranda, I mean, went to Indy like it's just really cool to see. You know these guys are, they're getting their shot.

Speaker 3:

That's cool man, I like it.

Speaker 1:

And it's just inspiring.

Speaker 3:

And I'm like now.

Speaker 1:

I'm like here, like I did my business thing, but I'm not now I'm trying to find my way back into that because, to the answer question, like do I see myself doing that as a head? No, hell no. But as an assistant, yeah, because I would learn, I want to learn, I want to learn, I want to also be part of that organization. But it's also looking at it like time wise now because now the older you get.

Speaker 1:

I'm like looking more at how I spend time, and those are 16 hour days, man Long days. And, like I love, hanging out with my son you know like the way my life is set up now I get to hang out with him like several times a week just hanging out, hanging out bonding. So I don't know it's a trip, but present the opportunity I'd feel it.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, but then you get the bond with like McAfrey or like Kittle muscles. You know what I mean. That's a little different. Sure, sure, all right, man. Well, it's Super Bowl week. One of the biggest things associated with the Super Bowl is gambling. So whether you're a seasoned gambler or you're just a seasonal gambler, the Super Bowl is a fun time for you guys to get in your bets. For example, a favorite one of people is National Anthem. Right, they're always like over under depending on who's singing. There's like a line. I think normally it's like 217 or something like that. I'm not sure who's singing it this year, so I'm not too sure what the line is on that, but that's a popular one. Another popular one, of course, is the Gatorade color. So we usually go blue. I always go blue, and Recently I've been putting on. I've been put on to orange. Orange is a good one. Last year it was plus 1,000 was purple, plus 1,000 is purple hit. I think purple hit last year. I believe so if you bet 100.

Speaker 1:

How much you win as a thousand?

Speaker 3:

No wait, is that 10,000? No, it's a thousand. Yes, a thousand.

Speaker 1:

So you're 100 will win 1,000. Yeah, jesus.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, that math right are you sure? I don't know. Let me double check. I don't know math very well. I might be wrong, but I Don't know. What do you think? How do you feel about that, austin? How do you feel about the gambling culture around Super Bowl?

Speaker 1:

the gambling culture around the Super Bowl. I think it's pretty fun you like it if you don't, if you're not a gambling addict. I think I around this time. People try to like just get in on the action and try to have fun with it, right, but like the prop bets are the best. Yes, a thousand.

Speaker 4:

Oh, I tend to make sure.

Speaker 1:

Like the prop bets are the fun one, cuz it's like that's true, like how much does your, how much are, how long will the? They had them go for they had them go for people get out their timers.

Speaker 3:

You know, I think more than the, the props I find fun, I think, the squares doing.

Speaker 3:

Yes, so you guys don't know what squares are. There's a hundred squares on the grid, we have the x and y axis and Everyone fills the squares. No one knows the numbers you're gonna get yet and, like whatever it fills up, you put zero, zero, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine on one, top in the bottom, top in the side and Whatever. Last digit at the each end of each, a quarter is what correlates to. You know the score, you know, and of course you have chiefs and Niners or Niners chiefs, depending on how your Master of the board does it. You know people do it differently and stuff, but it's always. It's always a fun, fun game.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, what was it? I mean what we're doing. We're doing with ten bucks a square ten dollars a square, that's.

Speaker 3:

That's a good game.

Speaker 1:

I like it and don't, and then I break it down into like four quarters. So right, four quarter payouts. So a first, second, third gets 200 bucks a pop. Nice, fourth quarter gets 400.

Speaker 3:

That's the big one.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I like it, you know, and there's different variations too. I've seen where the Numbers switch every quarter. Actually, yeah, so the so what, they'll have the grid set up right and they'll have like three more Squares, like you know, above it so that the numbers will change every quarter. So if you, if you're a lucky person who got like, let's say seven, zero, you know, and let's say the game was tens is ten, seven, right, so you're obviously zero, seven, and you and that's that was the only scoring in the game and that's how it stayed you would have won all four quarters, maybe.

Speaker 4:

I should do it.

Speaker 3:

It's a lot of work, though, if you, if you want to do that. That's the thing, though, because you know it's a harder for people to keep track of because you know you look at there's so many numbers like Did I win? Like it's. It's kind of confusing if you don't, if you're not, if you're not a season pro at it. But it's just a different. Variation gives people more, you know. It's just more fun for some people. You know also these sometimes they do reverse you know what I mean. Reverse score like like, if it's seven, three Niners, and then person who got seven, three chiefs would also get like a small payout. So there's like different stuff like that. You know who spice it up a little bit, you know, but I me personally I like ten dollars a square, because then you tell people, oh, you want to play, like, yeah, I'll take one square. Like, oh, ten dollars, though no, I just give me a 20, you get two squares. You know it's easy, you know yeah, no, that's so.

Speaker 1:

If you're most likely, you probably were you know someone who's doing squares right now or been approached asking, and if you don't know how to do it, it's literally just the last digit of every of each score. Yeah, at the end of the quarter. It's fun if your name falls in between those last digits. Let's say 27 and 14 and you have 27 Niners, 14 Kansas and you have seven on the Niners and four on Kansas.

Speaker 3:

You're a winner.

Speaker 1:

You're a winner easy money and now you start rooting for the game, weirdly.

Speaker 3:

So squares makes people act crazy during a game because you know you're rooting for points. You're rooting not for points, you know, and it's crazy. So there's a year when I forgot what Super Bowl was. A Katy Perry was the performer, right, so usually for the hat. There's halftime props, too right. So they're always like which song are they gonna perform first, which song they're gonna perform last? So Firework, I think, was the final one for Katy Perry. So I had a buddy who bet it like he wants some money off it, like we're not talking about thousands of dollars here, we're talking about small bets here and stuff out on millions.

Speaker 3:

I'm excited to see what ushers gonna do because I think it's confirmed array that that ludicrous and little John's coming out.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, yeah, I don't.

Speaker 3:

I'm pretty sure it's been confirmed. I'm not 100% sure. Yeah, yeah but if you had to pick, what song is he gonna open up to? Okay, I like that? What do you think they're gonna end up? What is he gonna end on?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, okay. Damn, I should have fucking yeah.

Speaker 3:

I like that, I like that. So you know me, austin, I like to partake in Bets, right? So I'm giving you guys my three picks for this game and I'm not giving you a side or the over-under, because you already know where I'm going going Niners, whatever. That is good. But for the game itself, prop-wise, I'm going George Kittle Any time. Touchdown oh okay, actually that's false. I'm going to touchdowns anytime, oh wow, because it's plus 800. Jesus, I'm taking George Kittle First touchdown of the game, plus 900. Why why?

Speaker 3:

cuz I love George Kittle and I think he's gonna have a huge game this weekend.

Speaker 1:

Okay, I think and it was coming back for the vengeance.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, it was. Oh, it's too easy for the script to be like he's coming out of vengeance, but I just got this feeling that he's gonna have a good game. I think he's gonna come out swinging and I think it's it's gonna be great.

Speaker 1:

You think that middle linebacking core ain't gonna catch up.

Speaker 3:

I don't think it's not. They ain't gonna catch up to him. I just think that he's gonna Get open. He's gonna get open, I think rock, rock's gonna find rocks gonna find them. And then for the third pick I'm gonna go Pacheco anytime. Touchdown oh, I like that one a lot because I mean, he's fast. He's fast, he runs crazy. Yeah, you see everyone talking about how the way he runs. Yeah, he runs with a vengeance.

Speaker 1:

He's an angry runner.

Speaker 3:

He's an angry runner, so I'll take it anytime touchdown from him too. So that's where I am. I'm on blue Gatorade and orange Gatorade Because those are those are. Those are my favorites.

Speaker 1:

So you chose all three, so all three have to hit.

Speaker 3:

No, no, those are. These are all straight vets. Oh so if that's a part, dude, that that's a parlay. That's crazy, because you got the first touchdown Stuff like that. But yeah, man, that's. That's what I'm picking this this Super Bowl Sunday.

Speaker 1:

Well, I got three bets on my own.

Speaker 3:

Oh, let's go.

Speaker 1:

So I did three prop bets myself.

Speaker 4:

Uh-huh.

Speaker 1:

Okay, the first one is you know With what team apparel will Drake wear on Super Bowl Sunday? Oh God, chiefs minus 170, or 49ers plus 130?

Speaker 3:

Oh God, please tell me he's wearing chiefs. I put money on the chiefs, so Thank you, thank you, I like it, I like it.

Speaker 1:

How many times will Roger Goodell be shown? Oh, over under one and a half times, oh.

Speaker 3:

I want to see over that's easy over. That's an easy one hundred percent easy over. Yeah, okay.

Speaker 1:

Will any player is a third bet. Will any player be ejected for throwing a punch or fighting? Yes plus 100.

Speaker 3:

No minus 1600 you tell me to say yes you think the yes I took the maybe it's to me. You know there's only one person that's like that can possibly happen. That's Trent Williams. Oh, that's true, it's the only guy who probably happened to. Will the power go out at the Super Bowl?

Speaker 1:

Yes plus 1600, no minus 15,000, and if I learn their lessons against the Niners and in the Baltimore design.

Speaker 3:

Never gonna happen again. We'll either kicker, hit the upright or crossbar on a miss field Goal or extra point attempt.

Speaker 1:

Hmm, yes plus 400, no minus 700, wow.

Speaker 3:

Here's okay. I have one more that I forgot that I put on, because this, this is crazy, right here, okay, oh, excuse me, no opening kickoff touchback. So they're saying there's gonna be a return, so I'm betting that the first kickoff is gonna be a return. Yo, this normally it's like, it's like the like. The stats is like 26 and six or something that there's been a touchback. It was plus 245. So I said you know what, let's ride. So I probably lost $25 already.

Speaker 1:

But we're probably gonna kick it off. We went to the toss.

Speaker 3:

No, we're gonna kick it off, for sure. But I'm hoping Moody doesn't have all his leg, wow, but because of Buckner he's definitely gonna get a touchback. But for sure. You remember that kick Moody had in the NFC championship that like like swept left hella fast. Oh, you know what You're probably. Oh, you know what you were doing You're. You're finding the pilots.

Speaker 3:

Oh my god, don't even that's why you probably didn't see that, but I was just like. I was like maybe he kind of had like a like yeah, he shanked it like and luckily hit a player and then it went through the end zone, so it was like a touchback.

Speaker 1:

Oh, was it kickoff it was a kickoff.

Speaker 3:

We got shanked Like kind of like, instead of going up like you went like oh shit, it was like how I hit my golf ball.

Speaker 1:

Whatever was cagulated like, hit the guy in the helmet. Now it's all my ball.

Speaker 3:

I mean it hit the dude, he dropped it and then, but it kept going and so it was all good, damn. But yeah, those, those are our picks for Super Bowl Sunday.

Speaker 1:

Well, any player proposed to his girlfriend on the field after the game.

Speaker 4:

Yes plus two, 10, no minus 190.

Speaker 3:

One no is only 190.

Speaker 4:

Yeah Damn, that's kind of fast.

Speaker 3:

That's kind of fucking. I might take the yes on that trick Chill Travis Kelsey chill.

Speaker 3:

Well, what? Imagine this? Okay, Imagine they lose and it's like he retires. He's just like you know what? Travis is not going to retire. I'm just saying my brother's retiring, we could be. There is no way he's retiring. I'm just saying this is this is all I'm saying. Is this dude? Look at the Manning brothers right now. They're ESPN gold right now. Yeah, but imagine having the Kelsey brothers under the ESPN banner. God damn, the Pro Bowl might just be good, just to watch the Kelsey versus the Manning's. You know that would be great.

Speaker 1:

That would be hilarious.

Speaker 3:

That would be great, you know, instead of this whole sibling rivalry between Peyton and Eli.

Speaker 1:

Eli won again. Who cares? Eli got bars, you saw, that. That was so stupid.

Speaker 3:

I guarantee he didn't write it.

Speaker 1:

I was kind of get up.

Speaker 3:

I'm pretty sure one of the little white boys in the writer was like oh, this would be a great wrap.

Speaker 1:

Why would you? Yeah, there's corny, it totally sound like that.

Speaker 3:

It was. It was good, though it was corny, but I just think Travis Kelsey and Jason Kelsey, their podcast is gold and ESPN will capitalize on that money Give them making money? Yeah, they'll pay them and then they'll be the. They'll be new faces on ESPN and make more money. Bruh Travis Kelsey can make more money not playing football than he does playing football.

Speaker 3:

I mean he could spend more time with Tay Tay didn't Brady lock in that deal? Yeah, he has with Fox. So he as soon as he retired he had one year off and then he's going to be into the Fox booth.

Speaker 1:

It was like 10 years for how much?

Speaker 3:

fucking fucked ton of money.

Speaker 1:

But Greg Olson is not going to those to pretty much. They said Greg Olson, you're done. I don't think, I don't know if he's leaving because Greg Olson is great.

Speaker 3:

That's what I'm saying. I really like what he's doing for Fox. So I don't know, I don't know if he's going to be the main dude, but I think he's going to be. I don't know what he's, I don't know what his job is yet, so we'll see. We don't even know if.

Speaker 1:

Brady's good at it.

Speaker 3:

We don't know because I hate to hear brings like I remember this team. They never beat us, so they'll never win, like, no, but I'm sure he has. It's funny we're almost still announcing yeah, he's, I think he's doing the Super Bowl. Oh, yeah, so because it's on CBS, so we get to see, we get to hear the. Oh, jim, I don't know.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, I don't know, Patrick Mahoney.

Speaker 3:

He's a great quarterback. I don't know. Did he catch? It Did he catch it yes he did. All right, Jim. All right, Jim. This is what I would have done. X, Y, Z, four flight. That's what I would have done. It's coming right now. He calls his plays like pretty well yeah, but I mean like she's like we get it, you played football, we get it, dude, but they're their bromance is too much dude.

Speaker 4:

Oh, Jim, I don't know oh man.

Speaker 3:

I don't know, dude, we'll see him. Well, he loves Patrick Mahomes, he loves Josh Allen, you know so never know. Yeah. This is gonna be a game. Wrap the turn. I'm about to put the TV on mute because because this fool's like, just like hand job and Mahomes entire game, like I really don't have to do that, you know everyone's, everyone's.

Speaker 1:

Everyone thinks like the Niners are the favorite, but it's like no, they're the favorite in the Bay Area.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, 100%.

Speaker 1:

But everyone everyone's thinking cheese are going to take this.

Speaker 3:

They're just. There's just a huge East Coast bias to everything sports related. You know what I mean. Like football, everyone's like oh, football is better in the East Coast.

Speaker 1:

Kansas City. Really, it's more like Midwest.

Speaker 3:

Right, middle East, middle, wow, sorry, no, but no, they're like, yeah, mid America. You know what I mean, but I think they're close to the East Coast side. I've been to Kansas City one time.

Speaker 1:

You have, yeah, so we're like just hanging out.

Speaker 3:

No, we were. I was there for a cooking competition.

Speaker 1:

Oh, sure, yeah it was.

Speaker 3:

It was when I was in school. It was like for the ACF team is like the nationals and stuff. We were like there's like five groups competing, you know that made to the finals and our group had made it all the way.

Speaker 3:

I was an alternate and damn yeah, and none of my teammates got sick, thankfully not really, Because now, man, you should have seen them, but they, they were amazing, they did really good. It's just when the pressure came down, some of them were starting to crack and it was just tough, you know. But you know, we ended up. I think we got fourth place out of five. So we sucked, but it wasn't bad. We all got medals.

Speaker 1:

But you made it all the way.

Speaker 3:

Yeah Well, I mean, I was there for the final ride, like I'm I'm Zach Erts, like what the Lions did oh, they signed me a week before the energy championship and they're like, yeah, we need you to like fill in stuff, like that, and but you get to go on the trip and if someone goes down and you're in, I'm like, oh, okay, cool, you know stuff. So I I literally like I had the playbook of like how to cook everything and I seen these guys work for two months on how to make everything, so I knew what to do. It's just a matter of am I going to get in or not? And I didn't, because I mean which is fine, because you normally don't want your alternate going in on the biggest competition of the day, you know the year and stuff. So, better than that, kansas City is a fun city because we went out that after that, we went out with like all the other chefs and stuff and we went to this like bar or something like it was crazy.

Speaker 3:

It was a good time, but I've been there one time. It was fun. That's all I could say.

Speaker 1:

Well, there you go. Yeah, Doin' Iners, baby Goin'.

Speaker 4:

Iners.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, man, any predictions for the game?

Speaker 1:

Um 24 10 Niners.

Speaker 3:

Wow, 24, 10 Niners cover and the Niners get the under. I like it. Oh, I don't know. I really I'm not. I'm not sure how I want to feel about this game, but I'm thinking it's gonna be a little more high school. I think it's gonna be high school. My balls tell me it's gonna be high scoring. My heart tells me it's gonna be an under, but I'm thinking like 33, 27, something around there, maybe I don't know, but it's gonna be entertaining. For sure it's gonna be entertaining. And Come on. We just got. We need this we need it.

Speaker 3:

We did so bad. I Need this like and there won't be a podcast next week if we lose so no, that, that ass. We're not gonna be on next week, guys, fuck if, but yeah. But yeah, man, I'm excited. I can't wait, we'll be golfing. Oh, we're actually golfing.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we're gonna be golfing.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, and maybe you guys get some golf content from us.

Speaker 1:

You know, maybe we'll see, we'll see what happens oh man.

Speaker 3:

Well, I mean.

Speaker 1:

Restore hyper wellness. Yes, how was that so? If you don't know what restore hyper wellness is, it is one of those franchise boutiques, recovery boutiques, where they Specialized in infrared sauna, specializing cryotherapy, mm-hmm, they specialize in the hyperbaric Oxygen chamber hyper hyperbolic time chamber IV. They have nurses on staff that actually put on wow, vitamin B's and magnesium and all those supplements and rehydrate you and all that stuff. So that's usually how it goes in that aspect.

Speaker 3:

I like that.

Speaker 1:

So I decided to try it out. We don't have one in San Jose, but I saw one and they have one in Los Agados. It was rated pretty well, went over there and I generally just wanted to do the cryotherapy. Okay even though Just some context, I I Don't believe in 95% of this shit.

Speaker 3:

Take baby Um real quick. Though what is the 5% you believe in?

Speaker 1:

Oh, the heat in the ice, but it's oh no, no, the IVs too. So they go in there, but it's just, but it's like. It's like, okay, let's the IVs do help. If you're dehydrated, okay, cryotherapy helps, cuz it makes you cold the infrared sauna helps, cuz it makes you hot. But these things specifically, like they can, you can get. You can go to a hot tub, you can do with a sauna.

Speaker 1:

You can do a sauna, or you can go cold plunge on yours, you can make a bucket of ice water and go in there. Iv, I mean that one. You can't really add strict gatorade, yeah, but I mean the IV straight to the source, right, right, but at the same time they the way they sell it, cuz I'm like I get it they're trying to stay up, sell you right, yeah, they sell you in these concoctions like the, the ingredients.

Speaker 3:

Oh, let me give you a beat. Well, want the be complex.

Speaker 1:

You also want like the carnitine and this and the other. It'll help you, and but if you look at this that's I did like I'm like does this shit actually work? There's been studies that suggest that it may have worked, but they're not double-blind, they're not like fully, there's not, there's a small sample size. So Scientifically you can't just go out there and be like this fucking works, like it fucking works like, and then it's, but does it make you feel good?

Speaker 1:

if it makes you feel good, then that's where I'm like cool, go for it.

Speaker 4:

You know what I? Mean, I'm not, I'm not gonna be like I'm right and these guys, these, this bullshit you can't, the studies don't show, so you shouldn't do it. Which a lot of people are like, nope, you shouldn't do it. Fuck man.

Speaker 1:

If it makes you feel good, then fucking do it like it's just that they do charge up the ass for it.

Speaker 3:

Hey, but sometimes you know you gotta treat yourself.

Speaker 1:

So that's your cell. It's just about treating yourself and just they do make you feel comfortable. Oh, hell, yeah, they got to.

Speaker 3:

I mean the staff, may, the staff is really great, because I'd be fucking nervous to get an IV Because I'm I'm not one for needles and I'm just like you know, I'm like only time I get a needle is like I take a blood test or something. And if I'm getting needled For something that's gonna be like an IV for pleasure, I better be comfortable. Because I got shitty veins because of Because of who I am oh what I am and I was very surprised that when I went to Kaiser for my last blood test, this woman was like got it, got it out. You know, you just got dude.

Speaker 3:

They're just saying you know what I mean. I hate to be like the client, the client, and they're like damn I missed. Because I know that's happened to me. Where they're, I get poked like two times in one arm. They can't get it and like let me go to your other arm and I get poked twice here and I'm walking out with like Con pads on both my arms but like yeah, I need to be comfortable. That's the only thing, and I mean I'd like try it out, why not?

Speaker 1:

I saw, yeah, I tried out for the infrared spa, like the sauna versus a regular sauna supposedly the light, like it's your muscles internally, like the weight the light waves can see, like it'll. It's like less energy but more heat output.

Speaker 3:

Oh, that's so you're in a microwave, pretty much You're in a microwave, so you're on high for three minutes.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, no, like 30. Oh shit, well done. Well, I mean people do. I mean it's a hot thing right now, but I mean the cryotherapy. You can get the same benefit of doing a cold plunge, but if you're in a bind like dude, you're standing there in a minus a hundred and forty seven degrees Fahrenheit, jesus, fucking Christ, and I was like shivering like I started. I started, I started singing in Fijian Because I just my mind just went there to like you saying what Chance of the island, my Fiji, hey.

Speaker 3:

So the like, the person conducting like your thing, just kind of like.

Speaker 1:

It was cold as shit. Like 10 more seconds, buddy. Like I used to always listen to that song, though, but it's so that I just started singing that shit because it got me through, because that shit is a mental thing, but I mean it was cool like it gets you all like like hella cold and after you kind of relax and all that. That was like I did towards the end, but you know, I I, when I walked in there, I thought that all they had was the cryotherapy, but then they said they had the IVs and I saw it was like a nice living area, have they had?

Speaker 1:

like they had like the fucking, like lounge chairs, ambience and nice. They said, oh, you should do the red light therapy and the cryotherapy. It's like two for once, the same price. Even if you just do one, I'm like fuck it, throw it in there, and but it's like the red light therapy. I really don't.

Speaker 1:

I don't know man the red light like there the red light therapy supposed to be supposed to like increase your mitochondria Activity of the cells so you could heal faster but I'm like I don't know about that. Like they say there's studies on it, but like okay, but that's that's tough. Let me like that's a little hug. Is if this is, if this is like like all everyone is doing in Hollywood athletes do it too but like if this is really what it is and how come?

Speaker 3:

I don't see it like why isn't like someone reputable posting about it? It's just, these guys are like take lion's mane. The same dude like telling me like yeah, eat mushrooms.

Speaker 1:

Well, it's just that's why I'm like Okay, like wow, and like the way I did it. It's like I just stand between these two like rays of red light. No, oh, you got to be completely naked and I was like whoa. So I was like yeah, you want it completely. So like I actually did what they suggest. I'm in a room by myself and then like yeah, then the guy has to turn it on from the outside and then you just turn on, you just stand there, but ass naked, absorbing the red light like you're fucking Superman and I'm like.

Speaker 1:

I'm like like five minutes, ten minutes in, I was like weird.

Speaker 3:

How does he know to turn the light on?

Speaker 1:

Because once he leaves, he just turns it on Time limit. Okay, I thought I thought you meant like no, no, you're like, you get naked.

Speaker 3:

He's like oh no.

Speaker 1:

I, they just give me okay to stand there and absorb it like so how'd you stand there? I literally just sit there.

Speaker 3:

You didn't do any like Cuz. You're like red light, right, I would have done something crazy.

Speaker 1:

It's just, I mean that, oh, it's supposed to warm up your body, and in here so it warms up your body and increases your midi-chlorians.

Speaker 3:

Is that what you?

Speaker 1:

said it's supposed to help. It's supposed to help your mitochondria mitochondria my mitochondria in your cells like be more active, so we could like heal, and I don't know, okay, man, I I would believe it for infrared.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I believe it if that infrared did that. But red light. So you tell me, if I just changed these light bulbs to red, we're doing it. I don't know, that's, that's.

Speaker 1:

I don't know. Well, I mean, but the thing is like, oh yeah, it's gonna be the same prices, like if you do, you do cryo in this and it's the same price. And I'm like, at the end of the day, it's just a business right. Like let's think about the margins they're making, cuz like they don't got to do anything else. I didn't pay the staff to like turn on the machine for them and make sure that your client doesn't die. You like make sure your client doesn't? Yeah, that's a lot of liability.

Speaker 3:

But like, isn't this cryotherapy? The same isn't this how Antonio Bryant fucking got frostbite on this because he didn't you're supposed to wear the damn boot season.

Speaker 4:

He didn't wear him.

Speaker 1:

No, no, he didn't probably thought he was like a badass and I'm like bro bro bro.

Speaker 3:

That's why. That's why one of our fantasy leagues my name is frostbite. That's why that sounded so familiar like is this how a b fucking burned his feet on the fuck.

Speaker 1:

So did he lose a tour, or?

Speaker 3:

something I don't know. You lost a lot of something, but you know that's a different story.

Speaker 1:

But yeah, it could happen, frostbite could happen, so okay, but yeah, it's cold in there Huh but a nice bath. You could do the same thing with a nice bath.

Speaker 3:

Did they? Was there any else? Anything else they gave you like in between sessions? Did they give you like a mango juice or like no movie?

Speaker 1:

Like. So the red light therapy was cool. I felt hot, I felt like a Costco rotisserie chicken, like standing there, like that's what it felt like, wow, but like you can just go to the sonic at the same thing. I'm right, relaxing on that, cool. But you know I'll take it for what it is. And then and then, after I do the red light, they I got to do the IV thing. The IV thing, I did feel different Difference because I got like the vitamin B complex, the magnesium, all that stuff.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, yeah but.

Speaker 1:

I just like what right when they started doing it? Well, first off, like they put this like weird tape thing on, but and I just sat there and I did the pump, they did the leg pump thing with the, with the air massagers and those are cool, but I literally laid there for an hour and I felt good, okay, like I was like oh, I feel. I feel hydrated, but that's pretty much probably what I was like not hydrated. So I was like oh, I'm hydrated, like I felt. I felt immediate difference, like that.

Speaker 4:

Okay mm-hmm.

Speaker 1:

But then after that I did the cryotherapy and then after that Total time beginning to end, I was like two and a half hours, two hours, oh, but I felt good, I felt I you know what I did sleep better.

Speaker 3:

Oh, that's good. Well, I mean, you kind of got like a kind of had like a spa day kind of, so you kind of got to relax a little bit and Stuff like that. So that's cool, I mean you better. You'd sleep better. Would you rather do that or actually go to a spa? I?

Speaker 1:

Do the IV again you the IV again.

Speaker 3:

But let me ask you did you work out before that too, that whole session? Did you work out that day or no? I did not. I was like very sore you think oh, but you're sore already banged. Up. Did you feel any difference after?

Speaker 1:

um, actually, a week later I went back to do the hyperbaric oxygen thing, where you sit, in this, in this, in this chamber, and it compresses the air around you Pressurized air, so we like it, your, your body can absorb more oxygen, or whatever. However, they terrifies me. But then you also hooked up to like an additional oxygen. Supposedly, this type of therapy actually works for people who are going through like Recurring from burns and all that because they're fighting certain ailments, because the increased oxygen helps them.

Speaker 1:

That does science to that one, that one, there's science to it. But, um, literally, I sat in this thing. You got to pop your ears because it pressurizes the, yeah, the air around you. But you, like you sit in your phone, like you just lay there in your phone and he's breathe.

Speaker 1:

You just chill out and put the oxygen in your mouth and then you're there for like an hour, you're just chilling on your phone. And then, after I was done, I Didn't I felt okay, but I did see, well, that's good. So both times I went back a sub. Well, just I was not happy. When I went back to do the hyperbaric, just I'm here, take care of fucking junior. You're out here fucking. I want to spot a extra fucking oxygen like I need. Oh, god damn it, that's pretty crazy.

Speaker 1:

So I'm gonna schedule a day for her to do it after she's done breastfeeding. I'd like, yeah, let's see it.

Speaker 3:

What, how she yeah, do they? Have one of those sound deprivation chambers. You know, I know he's how about like it's like a little like there's water. Yeah, you like float and then, like they have it right here, do they know, peters, would you try it? I Guess I Mean, you know me, I like to float. Oh yeah, you do like like that, like I just you're straight up fucking floating the middle of that I fell asleep.

Speaker 3:

There's how's that fell asleep with that shit dude no, like I just thought that's like cuz I hear you have like crazy, like Trips or something they left trips, but like cuz you're my, it's dark, it's completely dark, there's no sound. You're just like completely alone with your thoughts and you like have like visions or some shit.

Speaker 1:
